HELENA, Mont. – The Frontier Conference has released its 2024-25 Frontier Conference Men's Basketball Coaches' Preseason Poll. The six Frontier head coaches voted on the projected order of finish and the preseason awards. Carroll College was picked to finish No. 6 in the league.
For the second-straight year, the Fighting Saints (19-12, 12-3), one of two Frontier teams to compete in the 2023-24 NAIA Men's Basketball Championship, received little respect from the Frontier Conference coaches in the annual preseason poll, released Tuesday by the conference office.
Carroll received seven votes in the league's poll, placing them as finishing sixth behind Providence (9), MSU-Northern (12), Rocky (17), Montana Western (20), and conference favorite Montana Tech (25).
Carroll will have a relatively new look in the 2024-25 season, with seven incoming freshmen or transfers joining nine returning players from the '23-24 season.
Head Coach Dan Pearson and his new-look Saints will look to repeat the "underdog" performance the team put together a season ago, where Carroll was picked to finish fifth in the preseason poll, only to finish second in the league en route to a berth in the NAIA Men's Basketball Championship.
The Saints will get their first opportunity to prove the preseason poll wrong on November 1, as they open their season against Bushnell (Ore.) at the PE Center in Helena.
