LA GRANDE, Ore. - The Carroll Women's Soccer team dropped their second game of the road trip on Saturday, falling 1-0 to Eastern Oregon.
The only goal of the game came at the 56:29 mark in the second half, credited as an own goal by the Saints on a deflection off of a corner kick, which ultimately decided the outcome.
Despite the setback, Carroll showed a resilient defensive effort.
Goalkeeper Maria Ackerman (Billings, Mont. / SO) recorded four saves in the loss.
The Saints generated nine shots, three of which were on target, but couldn't find the back of the net. Eastern Oregon matched Carroll's shot total with nine attempts but had five on goal, leading to the decisive own goal.
Carroll will return to Helena briefly before turning right back around for another trip to Oregon next weekend. The Saints will play both Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech as part of their longest bus trip of the season.
