HELENA, Mont. - The Frontier Conference has announced the winners of its weekly individual awards. For the second-straight week,
Andrew Cook has been named Erck Hotels Frontier Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
Cook is a six-foot, four-inch, junior guard from Huntington Beach, Calif.
Few players in the country have been as hot as Cook in the last month. After securing his first conference Player of the Week nod last week, Cook came out and backed it up with another outstanding week.
On Thursday at Montana Western, Cook led the Saints to a crucial road win in Dillon with a 27-point, 12-rebound, four-assist performance. He followed that up with a terrific outing on Saturday against Providence, again scoring 27 points, and adding eight more rebounds to solidify a double-double average for the week.
Cook improved his scoring average for the season to 20.6 points per game, which currently leads the Frontier Conference.
Cook and his teammates are deep in preparation for a Frontier Conference first-place battle on Thursday, as the Saints are set to square off with Montana Tech in Butte.
