Men's Track and Field | 01/25/24 | 11:34 AM
Helena, Mont. – Saints Track & Field travels to the first meet of 2024 in Pocatello, Idaho for the Stacy Dragila Open on Friday, January 26.
Twenty two women and twenty five men will compete in the meet. Multiple previous national qualifiers will be in action including Josh Smalley (Pole Vault), Chloe Gallagher (Pole Vault), and Brycen Gardner (Mile). Gallagher missed qualifying in December by less than an inch.
Several athletes will don the Saints uniform for the first time during track season. For the men, this includes Weston Means (High Jump), Beau Meyer (Shot Put), and Marco Gonzalez-Sosa (800m). Zack Gacnik (3000m) was an All-Conference performer this fall during cross country season and will now take to the oval. For women, first time competitors include Abigail McBeain (Shot Put), Harlie Jackson (400m), and Callie Kaiser (High Jump). Freshmen Jenna Castro (3000m) and Anna Terry (3000m) will run in their first track races as Saints after contributing to the Carroll Cross Country women's 25th place finish at Nationals in the fall.
"We're packing the bus for this meet," said Head Coach Harry Clark. "It's going to be really fun to have so many athletes competing at a venue that provides a great atmosphere," he added.
Field events will begin at noon Mountain Time and running events at 2:15 pm at Holt Arena at Idaho State University.
