HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Basketball teams will get their first chance to play against MSU-Northern on Saturday afternoon at the Carroll PE Center. The Women will tip at 2 p.m., and the Men will follow at 4 p.m.
Saturday's games against MSU-Northern will round out the first loop through the Frontier Conference schedule for the Saints. The games will be the first of three matchups between the teams over the next month, and Carroll will be looking to start hot on both sides of the action.
The Carroll Women (13-3, 4-0) enter the afternoon on a five-game win streak, and will aim to keep things rolling against the Skylights, a team they have had the better of for the last several years.
Carroll has won 13-straight in the series, and the Skylights haven't won in Helena since 2017.
A healthy diet of
Jamie Pickens (Helena, Mont. / GR) and
Maddie Geritz (Boise, Idaho / GR) is likely from the Saints this afternoon. The front court pair are the team's two leading scorers and work well together in the paint.
Following Thursday's win at Rocky, the Carroll Men (9-8, 3-1) sit alone in second place in the Frontier Standings.
Although they haven't met on the court yet this season, Carroll has seen the Lights up close already this season, with Northern being the other Frontier school to participate in Carroll's Comfort Suites Classic in November.
The Lights took all three games in last season's series, and the 2023-24 Saints will look to end that skid this afternoon. Both rosters have seen their share of change since last season, but the importance of Saturday's game is not lost on the new group of Saints.
Both games will be streamed live on the
Fighting Saints Network - presented by Point S Tire & Auto Service.
Rewind 9.49 FM is where you can tune in to hear Voice of the Saints, Nick Dietzen, and Coach Gary Turcott call the action live.
