Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Late Goal Gives Carroll Women a 1-1 Tie

EUGENE, Ore. - The Carroll Women's Soccer team battled from behind, scoring in the waning moments to earn a 1-1 draw with Bushnell on Friday afternoon.

The Fighting Saints (6-0-2, 2-0-2) seem to have a knack for finding late game goals in 2023, their goal with two minutes remaining gave them a 1-1 tie with the Beacons (2-3-1, 1-1-1).

For what feels like the first time all season, the Carroll Women did not heavily out-shoot their opponents. Carroll finished with 10 shots to Bushnell's nine, in a very physical affair on Friday.

A scoreless first half, and majority of the second would give way to an exciting final 15 minutes of action.

Bushnell would break the scoreless tie with a goal in the 75th minute off of the foot of Dina Hayes and take a 1-0 advantage.

All signs pointed towards the first loss of the season for the Saints, but sustained pressure in the final minutes would wear down the Beacon defenders.

With just two minutes remaining, Emma Barron (Whitefish, Mont. / SO) scored her first goal of the season, off an assist from Zoie Koci (Boise, Idaho / SR) to knot the game at 1-1 where it would finish.

Carroll remains unbeaten on the year, and will look to continue their success tomorrow afternoon against Corban (Ore.)
