EUGENE, Ore. - The Carroll College Men's Soccer team earned a 3-1 win over Bushnell (Ore.) on Friday afternoon in Oregon.
The Fighting Saints (4-2-1, 4-1) bounced back from a loss in their prior contest, picking up a 3-1 win over the Beacons (4-2-2, 0-2-1).
Although the final score showed four total goals scored, none of them would come in the first half of play.
Just five minutes into the second half, however,
Enrico Paparelli (Sao Paulo, Brazil / FR) scored his third goal of the season, with an assist from
Michal Mojzis (Bratislava, Slovakia / JR) to give the Saints a 1-0 lead.
Only five minutes later,
Matt Wigton (Baltimore, Md. / SR) scored his first goal of the season to double the Carroll advantage, 2-0.
Ismael Navarro (Dayton, Texas / FR) was credited with the assist on Wigton's goal.
Bushnell would cut the lead in half in the 59th minute, Francisco Cayolla scored to make things 2-1 heading into the final half hour.
Ziad Kaddah (Cairo, Egypt / FR) would give Carroll the insurance goal they needed in the 67th minute, and the Saints would march to a 3-1 victory.
Up next, Carroll will take on Corban (Ore.) tomorrow afternoon before heading back to Helena.
