Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Moczan's Late-Game Goal Powers Carroll Past Multnomah

HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Women's Soccer team found some late-game magic, defeating Multnomah 1-0 on Thursday afternoon at Nelson Stadium.

The Fighting Saints (5-0-1, 2-0) kept their unbeaten streak alive on Thursday, securing a 1-0 win in the final minutes over Multnomah (3-5, 1-2).

The first half, while played predominantly in the Multnomah half of the field, resulted in no score for either team. Carroll out-shot the Lions 8-1, but could not find the back of the net in the opening period on the overcast, cool day in Helena.

The second half, more-so than the first, belonged to the Saints offensively, Carroll played nearly exclusively in the Multnomah half of the field, and fired off 13 shots in the second half.

With no luck in beating the Lions' keeper through the first 88 minutes, the Carroll attack would not slow down.

CCC Offensive Player of the Week, Emily Funseth (Great Falls, Mont. / SR) beat her marker at midfield, played a beautiful ball in to Delaney Moczan (Las Vegas, Nev. / FR), and the freshman beat the Multnomah keeper to the bottom right side of the net to put the Saints on top with just a minute remaining in the game.

Moczan's first goal of the year lifted Carroll to the 1-0 win, and the Saints enter their game tomorrow with Warner Pacific (Ore.) having one of the best records through six games in program history.

Friday's game with the Knights will have a scheduled kick-off of 4;00 P.M.

For the first time in program history, fans will be able to purchase Lewis & Clark Brewing Co. beer at Nelson Stadium, and bring the beer into the stands for tomorrow's homecoming contest.
