HELENA, Mont. – Head Coach Rachelle Sayers has announced the finalized 2023-24 schedule for the defending Frontier Conference Champion Carroll College Women's Basketball team.
The Fighting Saints finished 2022-23 on top of the league, winning both the Frontier Conference regular season and tournament titles. Carroll was selected as a host site for an NAIA Women's Basketball National Tournament pod, defeating Rochester (Mich.) and Jamestown (N.D.) to advance to the final site location in Sioux City, Iowa where they would ultimately fall to Dakota State (S.D.) in the round of 16.
The 2023-24 Saints will look to make a deep run at this season's national title, and have built a very competitive schedule to prepare them for the challenge.
"We are really excited about our preseason schedule and the challenges that these teams will present." Said Sayers. "We have six teams that all were National Tournament qualifiers as well as a game at the University of Utah, who made it to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament. We extremely excited to host Montana State here in Helena on November 4th when we will be celebrating 50 Years of Carroll College Women's Basketball."
Carroll opens their year with a bang, hosting perennial NAIA power, Indiana Wesleyan at the PE Center on October 27, followed by a trip to Spokane, Wash. for a clash with NCAA Division III opponent Whitworth on October 30.
This season marks 50 years of Women's Basketball at Carroll College, and to celebrate the tremendous growth and achievements of the program, November 4 will be a day to remember.
The 50-year reunion with all former players will center around a home exhibition contest that Saturday when the Fighting Saints host NCAA Division I opponent, co-defending Big Sky Conference Champion Montana State, at the Carroll College PE Center.
The Saints will head to Arizona the following week for matchups with Embry Riddle and Arizona Christian, before returning home for one of the biggest events of the year.
Carroll's annual field-trip game returns on November 16, as Stephens College (Mo.) will have to brave 3,000 of Helena's most enthusiastic fans, local-area elementary students, as Carroll celebrates Helena's champions of character.
A road game at the College of Idaho precedes the Carroll Thanksgiving Classic in Helena. Two of the top Cascade Collegiate Conference teams, Lewis Clark State and Southern Oregon will join the Saints and the University of Providence in Helena for a four-game showcase surrounding the Holiday break.
Carroll will then head to Salt Lake City for an exhibition contest against the NCAA Division I Utah, a sweet-16 team from a year ago, to end November.
After hosting Grace College (Ind.), the Saints will head to Honolulu in mid-December for the Hawaii Classic where they will square off with, Jamestown (N.D.), Indiana Tech, and Hawaii Pacific over the course of three days.
A New Year's Day tilt with Milligan University (Tenn.) will finalize the Saints' non-conference slate before beginning the always difficult Frontier Conference regular season.

Eight conference games will take place at the Carroll College PE Center, with Montana Western, Providence, and MSU-Northern all making two trips to Helena, and Montana Tech and Rocky each coming once.
The Saints are scheduled to officially begin practices later this month in preparation for the long 2023-24 season.
