Helena, Mont. - The Carroll College golf teams will see their first action of the 2023-2024 season on Monday, as the tee-off at the season-opening Oredigger Invite at the Butte Country Club in Butte, Mont.
The Carroll golf teams, each coming off of a third-place finish at the 2022-23 Frontier Conference Championships, will hit the links for the first time this fall at one of Montana's best courses, Butte Country Club.
Both the Carroll Men and Women's teams saw a huge influx of new talent join the roster this past offseason, with Head Coach Ben MacIntyre reloading both teams with some outstanding prep players.
The Women's team features more returners, with three of the five players being a sophomore or older;
Katie Fagg (Missoula, Mont. / SR),
Stella Claridge (Kalispell, Mont. / SO), and
Echo Anderson (Post Falls, Idaho / SR). Rounding out the Carroll five on the Women's side are two newcomers -
Celi Chapman (Montana City, Mont. / FR) and
Ellie Baxter (Thompson Falls, Mont. / FR), two of the top golfers in the state from the 2022-23 season.
On the Men's Side of the action,
Sam Conner (Salt Lake City, Utah / JR) ,
Caleb Spangler (Havre, Mont. / SO) ,
TJ Fierling (North Bend, Wash. / FR),
JT Slivinski (Montpelier, Idaho / FR) , andÂ
Kaden Matheny (Missoula, Mont. / SO) will try and move Carroll into the top tier of Frontier Conference schools this season.
The Men will play 36 holes on Monday, followed by 18 tomorrow to wrap up the event, while the Women will play 18 holes both days.
