HELENA, Mont. - Lauren Heuiser, a standout spiker from Helena and recent Carroll Volleyball commit, was recognized with the Pat Donovan Award from Helena High School for the 2022-23 year.
The Pat Donovan Award is given the top male and female scholar-athlete at Helena High. Honorees must have participated in two or more sports all four years while exhibiting stellar attributes in athletics, academics, character, attendance, sportsmanship, leadership and citizenship. The Award is named after Donovan, a legendary Helenan who attended Stanford University on Football scholarship and spent nine seasons in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys.
Hueiser was recognized for her achievements as a mutli-sport athlete, competing in Volleyball, Track and Field, and Basketball over her time at Helena High. Her time as a Bengal will be most recognized for her pair of All-State selections in Volleyball.
The Donovan Award recognition is not something foreign to the Heuiser family. Lauren's older sister, and future teammate, Liz Hueiser was also recognized with the honor in her time at Helena High.
Both girls, along with the rest of their teammates, will enjoy a summer break before reporting for camp in early August as they prepare for a pursuit of another Frontier Conference Championship.
