Carroll Athletics Announces Restructured Athletic Administration

HELENA, Mont. – Carroll College Athletic Director Charlie Gross has announced a restructure of the Athletic Department administration and operations. Two current Carroll staff members, Rachelle Sayers and Kris Ward, will be working in elevated roles as Assistant Athletic Directors.
 
Rachelle Sayers, Head Women's Basketball Coach, has accepted the additional role of Assistant Athletic Director – Senior Women's Advisor.
 
Kris Ward, Head Athletic Trainer, has accepted the role of Assistant Athletic Director – Student Health & Well-Being.
 
The elevated roles serve an important purpose, with the main goal being increased efficiencies in operations within the Carroll Athletic Department and an opportunity to provide a greater student-athlete experience. The pair have a combined nearly three decades of leadership at Carroll and have provided immense support to the department and countless student-athletes.
 
"I am very pleased to announce these changes to our Athletic Department structure" Said Charlie Gross. "Both Rachelle and Kris have demonstrated a tremendous passion and desire to enhance the Athletic Department and the experiences of our student-athletes. These changes will have a positive impact on our Fighting Saints immediately, and for years to come. Rachelle and Kris truly model excellence in all that they do."
 
In Sayers' new role she will aid in maintaining a culture that fosters equitable participation for all student-athletes at Carroll College. Sayers will help review all department policies and procedures to help drive equity inclusion and serve as the department's Title IX lead, advocating for the advancement of all female student-athletes as well as creating and maintaining an active gender equity plan.
 
In addition, Sayers will coordinate and track Athletic Department community service initiatives, coordinate NAIA Champions of Character initiatives and participation, develop additional staff educational programming, and continue to serve as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) liaison.
 
"I am excited about the new opportunity to be the Seniors Women's Administrator at Carroll College." Said Sayers. "I look forward to working with Charlie and our staff to continue to build and support our programs and enhance the overall experience of our student-athletes. 
 
In Ward's new role she will be tasked with supporting student-athletes in a number of ways, ensuring that they can consistently function at a high level in their personal, athletic, and academic experiences while at Carroll and beyond. Ward will oversee campus and community collaborations for health services and academic experiences, and will also act as a liaison for facilities and maintenance where she will administer both facility and event operations of the Athletic Department.
 
Ward will continue to be actively involved with the Carroll College "CARE" team, oversee and maintain the weight room schedule and operation, and provide department oversight for all facility maintenance and enhancements, as well as act as a director for all Athletic event managers.
 
"I am very excited for this opportunity to continue to expand resources for our student-athletes." Said Ward "I look forward to continuing to add programming and make an impact on the day-to-day life of both our current and future student-athletes."
 
Ward and Sayers' will officially begin their new roles on July 1.
