HELENA, Mont. - Head Coach Rachelle Sayers has announced the hiring of Savanna Bignell to lead the Carroll College JV Women's Basketball Team.

Bignell will take the reins immediately, replacing the departed Taylor Edwards who had guided the Carroll JV program for the previous two seasons.

"We are super excited to have Savanna join our staff." Said Sayers. "She is a proven winner and will be a great mentor and leader for our JV program. We hope that her involvement with both the JV and Varsity teams will continue to grow."

Bignell joins the Carroll staff after having served as an assistant coach at Helena Capital High School for the previous three seasons.

Bignell graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Health (K-12) with a minor in Coaching from the University of Montana Western in 2020. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Teaching Arts degree through Montana State University . In addition to coaching, she currently teaches PE and Health at Montana City School.

Followers of the Frontier Conference will certainly recognize the Bignell name. In 2019, she was a valuable member of the UMW squad that won the WBB NAIA National Championship. Her senior year she received Second Team All-Conference honors and was named NAIA Honorable Mention All-American.
