HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Softball team is back on the diamond after just two days of rest, this time in Great Falls to conclude the season series with Providence at 2 p.m. amd 4 p.m.

The Fighting Saints (15-25, 10-16) enter the final week of Cascade Collegiate Conference play needing a handful of victories to clinch a spot in the CCC postseason. Their final push begins this afternoon with a doubleheader at Providence (7-29, 3-23).

Carroll, who had been in control of their own fate for the past several weeks, now find themselves on the outside, looking in. The Saints were leapfrogged by Northwest (12-15) in the CCC standings after falling in three conference games at UBC this past weekend.

The Saints, who own the tiebreaker over the Eagles, will need to handle their business in the final week of the season, and hope from some help from Southern Oregon, if they want to taste the postseason.

Today's doubleheader, which was originally scheduled for last week but moved due to weather, will feature one conference game, and one non-conference game.

The Saints and Argos split a pair of games earlier this month, leaving the series tied at 1-1 heading into this afternoon's series finale.

Today's games are sure to carry some extra significance for the players, with bragging rights between the NAIA's only two Montana softball teams on the line.

First pitch for today's opening game is scheduled for 2 p.m., with the second game tentatively scheduled for 4 p.m.

A live stream of the games can be found HERE, and live stats are available HERE for game one, and HERE for game two.
