HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Softball team will make their long awaited true home opener on Monday afternoon, hosting Providence at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at Centennial Park in Helena.

The Fighting Saints (13-17, 9-9), after what seems like an eternity, will finally get the chance to play at their home field on Monday, hosting Providence (4-22, 2-16) in a Cascade Collegiate Conference doubleheader.

Weather has been extremely uncooperative for Carroll in the 2023 season. The Saints saw their original home opener, back in February, be forced to relocate, and were also forced into playing their lone other home series at East Helena High School. A warm stretch has finally allowed for City Field at Centennial park to drain and dry, providing the Saints with some much-needed normalcy heading into the final stretch of the season.

The Saints find themselves sitting in the final postseason spot, for now. Carroll will look to solidify their position in the standings this afternoon, and continue their quest for a return to the CCC postseason. A pair of wins this afternoon would even the Saints' CCC record with No. 25 Eastern Oregon, and provide breathing room from Northwest.

The Argonauts come in to town for today's doubleheader at the bottom of the CCC looking up, but no one in the Carroll dugout will expect anything less than the best effort from the only other Montana team in the Conference.

Today's doubleheader will be the first two of a season-long four game series between the schools. Carroll will make a trip up to Great Falls on April 18 to complete the series, with only the first game of that doubleheader counting towards conference play.
