SALEM, Ore. - The Carroll College Softball team is back on the diamond after just three days rest, this time for a weekend series with Corban in Salem, Ore.

The Fighting Saints (9-15, 5-7) will look to separate themselves from the team right on their trail in the Cascade Collegiate Conference standings, Corban (7-18, 5-9).

Carroll enters this weekend's series having played six games in three days last weekend. The Saints split their series with Northwest, but managed to take two out of three CCC matchups, before falling in a doubleheader at NCAA Division I Montana on Monday.

Corban comes into the series on a four-game losing streak, having dropped all four of their contests with No. 12 College of Idaho last weekend in Caldwell.

The Warriors and Saints are tied in CCC wins, with each team having won five conference games on the year. Corban has played an additional two CCC games with their travel partner, Bushnell, giving Carroll the technical advantage in the standings on win percentage.

The Saints will have one primary goal this weekend, and that is to find some consistency at the plate. In their nine wins on the year, Carroll is averaging 9.3 runs per game. On the flip side, in their 15 losses the Saints are averaging just 1.9 runs per game.

Jessica Nimmo (Las Vegas, Nev. /SR) has been Carroll's best hitter on the year. The senior enters the weekend with a .381 batting average, with 24 hits, two home runs, and 18 RBI.
