HELENA, Mont. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) have announced the full 64 team field for the 2023 NAIA Women's Basketball Championship. The No. 11 Carroll College Women's Basketball team have earned a No. 2-seed and will host three other schools in their opening round pod, March 7-8.
The Fighting Saints (25-5, 14-1) had to wait until the very last second to see their name flash on the screen during the NAIA Women's Basketball Championship Selection Show, but it was worth the wait. Carroll will be the No. 2-seed in the Liston Quadrant.Â
Carroll's opening round opponent will be Rochester University (Mich.). The Warriors (21-10, 16-4), who will have the No. 15-seed in the quadrant, won the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament this past weekend to secure their place in the field.
The other two teams in the pod are the No. 7-seed University of Jamestown (21-8, 16-6), an at-large team from the Great Plains Athletic Conference, and No. 10-seed Indiana University - South Bend (28-2, 18-2), who won the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.
