KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - The Carroll College Softball team is back in action this weekend for a delayed series with No. 5 Oregon Tech in Klamath Falls, Ore.
The Fighting Saints (7-8, 3-3) had to wait an extra day to get things going on what will be their longest trip of the season. Klamath Falls, home of No. 5 Oregon Tech (12-5, 5-1) was blanketed with snow and cold temperatures this past week prompting conference and school officials to move the series back a day.
Weather has not be kind to the Saints in the young season, Carroll was forced to relocate their "home" opening series to Caldwell, Idaho last month due to severe cold in the Helena area.
Carroll enters the weekend on a four-game win streak, having beaten CCC foe Warner Pacific in four straight games last weekend in Portland. After a dismal offensive series the week before, Carroll exploded in the series with the Knights. The Saints outscored Warner Pacific 37-7 over the course of the weekend.
Jessica Nimmo (Las Vegas, Nev. / SR) had a weekend to remember, hitting .399 while driving in eight RBI and scoring five runs. The Saints will hope that her bat stays hot against one of the NAIA's top teams this weekend in Oregon.
The Owls come into the weekend with some momentum as well. They jumped two spots in the latest NAIA Coaches Poll after securing a series win over now-ranked No. 12 College of Idaho. Jayce Seavert is leading the way for the Owls on the year with a batting average of .426 on the season. Seavert went 6-13 with three RBI in the College of Idaho series.
