Brookings, S.D. – Seven Saints will compete at the NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships at Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex on March 2-4.

For the men, Carroll athletes who qualified for the event include Van Gottwals (800m - A Standard), Garrett Kocab (Shot Put - B Standard), Tate Kauffman (Triple Jump - B Standard), and Josh Smalley (Pole Vault - B Standard). Gottwals is ranked 11th out of 20 competitors, Kocab is ranked 18th of 24, Kauffman is ranked 35th overall, and Smalley is tied with five other individuals for the 11th highest clearance in the NAIA. For Gottwals' 800m, the top two individuals from each of three heats and next two fastest times will make the final.

On the women's side, Paige Baxstresser (400m - A Standard), Reghan Worley (5000m - A Standard), and Natalie Yocum (800m - B Standard) are qualified. Baxstresser is ranked 11th out of 22 competitors, Worley is ranked 25th of 36, and Yocum is ranked 10th of 20. There will be three heats in both the 400m and 800m, and the top two individuals from each heat and next two fastest times will make the final. Twelve competitors will make the final from two heats of 5000m: the top four athletes in each heat and the next four fastest times.

"It is always exciting to bring a great group of athletes to a fantastic facility with a competitive atmosphere," said Head Coach Harry Clark. "We're looking forward to stepping up, to putting to use the work we've done, and to showing off the improvement we've made over the course of the indoor season," he added.

1:10 pm MT - 800 Final (Yocum)

1:15 pm MT - 800 Final (Gottwals)

2:35 pm MT - 5000 Final (Worley)
