Women's Basketball | 12/13/23 | 9:37 AM
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has released the latest edition of the 2023-24 NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Rating. The Carroll College Women's Basketball team sits at No. 5 in the national poll.
The Fighting Saints (6-2) remain unchanged in the latest coaches' poll, with little opportunity for change due to the nature of their schedule over the past several weeks.
Carroll stays inside the top-five, with their last two countable contests having been wins over now-ranked No. 7 LC State and No. 20 Southern Oregon in Helena last month.
The stagnant position at No. 5 marks the first time since the 2021-22 season that the Saints have spent multiple weeks inside the nation's top five.
Carroll remains the highest rated team in the Frontier Conference, with Rocky Mountain College appearing at No. 12 and Providence checking in at No. 16.
A lengthy break has given the Saints the opportunity to rest and recover before a busy back-half of December kicks off tomorrow evening. Carroll will host Grace (Ind.) at 5:30 p.m. at the PE Center, before immediately turning around and heading to Honolulu for the Hawaii Classic this weekend.
Rating Methodology
- The rating was rated by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated groups.
- The Coaches' Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second place and so on through the list.
- The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team's ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appear on.
- Teams that receive only one point on the ballot are not considered "receiving votes"
