HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Women's Soccer team couldn't seem to get anything going on Saturday, falling 3-0 to the College of Idaho at Nelson Stadium

The Fighting Saints (8-1-2, 5-1-1) suffered their first setback of the 2023 season, unable to overcome heavy pressure from the Yotes (11-1-1, 7-0). 

After a tightly contested beginning of the game, C of I broke things open in the 33rd minute with a goal off the foot of Larissa Wegner to give the Yotes a 1-0 lead heading into the halftime break.

Coming out of halftime, the Yotes upped their pressure immensely, and found a pair of quick goals off of corner kick opportunities to seal the game.

Lexi Haws scored in the 52nd minute, and then Wegner put away her second goal of the afternoon just one minute later to give the College of Idaho a 3-0 lead that they would not relinquish.

The Yotes out-shot the Saints 28-3 over the course of the afternoon, but Maria Ackerman (Billings, Mont. / FR) performed admirably, finishing with 11 saves on the day.

The Saints remain in second place in the CCC standings, and will turn their attention towards Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon in what will be a senior day weekend in Helena.
