Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Carroll Women Keep Record Clean, Beat EOU 3-1

HELENA, Mont. - The (RV) Carroll College Women's Soccer team continued their outstanding start to 2023 with a 3-1 win over Eastern Oregon in front of a lively crowd at Nelson Stadium on Friday.

The Fighting Saints (8-0-2, 6-0-1) simply keep finding ways to win, and did so again in convincing fashion over the Mountaineers (4-3-4, 2-3-2).

For the first time this season, the Saints were heavily out-shot. Eastern Oregon fired off 17 shots to Carroll's eight, but the Saints made the most of their opportunities at home.

Delaney Moczan (Las Vegas, Nev. / FR) managed to sneak a rebound attempt short side past the EOU keeper in the 21st minute to give Carroll a 1-0 advantage.

Just two minutes removed from the halftime break, Avery Lambourne (Billings, Mont. / FR) put away her first goal of the season to double the Carroll lead at 2-0.

From there, EOU upped the pressure immensely, playing nearly all of the second half on the Carroll side of the field.

Their efforts were rewarded in the 80th minute when Peyton Jacaway scored a penalty shot goal, her third of the year, to cut the lead in half, 2-1.

Moczan responded in a big way, scoring her second goal of the game and third of the season off of a great feed from Jaymee Sheridan (Helena, Mont. / JR) to re-extend the lead back to two just two minutes after the Jacaway goal.

Carroll held on for the 3-1 win, remaining unbeaten and setting the stage for the CCC game of the week tomorrow in Helena.

The unbeaten Yotes of College of Idaho will join Carroll at Nelson Stadium at 4 p.m. for what could be the biggest match of the CCC season.
