HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Soccer teams will host Eastern Oregon this afternoon at Nelson Stadium, with the Men's game starting at 2 p.m. and the Women kicking off at 4 p.m.
Entering the second weekend in October both the Carroll Men (4-2-2, 4-1-1) and Carroll Women (7-0-2, 4-0-1) are sitting in second place in the Cascade Collegiate Conference standings.Â
On the Men's side, Eastern Oregon enters the week at (2-5-3, 2-3-1). Last weekend in La Grande, Ore. the Mountaineers went winless, tying Oregon Tech and falling 3-0 to Southern Oregon.
Carroll finished their trip to central Oregon last weekend with a tie at Corban and a 3-1 victory at Bushnell.Â
The Saints are off to one of their best CCC starts in program history and will look to keep things rolling this afternoon against a Mountaineer team that is in the bottom-half of the league standings.
On the Women's side of the action, Carroll is off to their best start since the 2018 season. For the first time this year, the Saints are appearing in the "receiving votes" portion of the NAIA Coaches' Poll.
Unbeaten on the year, and unbeaten in CCC play, Carroll hosts an Eastern Oregon team (4-1-4, 2-1-2) that had been receiving votes, but have suffered recent setbacks.
The Saints continue to be the aggressors in nearly every match they have played this season. Through nine games, Carroll has allowed only four goals, tied with Eastern Oregon for the fewest in the CCC.
The Mountaineers are sitting at No. 4 in the league standings, and Friday's contest is sure to have serious postseason implications.
Both games will be streamed free of charge on the VEO Live app, Carroll Soccer's new streaming home. Users simply need to create a free account and search for Carroll College.
