GREAT FALLS, Mont. - The Carroll College Women's Soccer team finished the 2023 regular season with a bang, shutting out Providence 7-0 on Monday afternoon.
The Fighting Saints (11-1-4, 8-1-3) put a bow on one of the best regular seasons in program history on Monday, blanking the Argos (2-12-2, 1-9-2) by final score of 7-0.
Carroll scored what would prove to be the game winner in just the seventh minute, setting the tone for the afternoon early.
Avery Lambourne (Billings, Mont. / FR) got things rolling, and it would snowball from there.
Delaney Moczan (Las Vegas, Nev. / FR) added the second goal just three minutes later, and the Saints would ride the 2-0 advantage into halftime.
Just five minutes into the second half,
Emma Barron (Whitefish, Mont. / SO) would score the first of what would end up being five Carroll goals.
Deanna Lord (Cave Creek, Ariz. / SO) scored in the 60th minute, and just two minutes after that, Moczan netted her second goal of the afternoon.
Lord scored her second goal in under ten minutes of game time in the 66th minute, before
Hayley Smith (Woods Cross, Utah / FR) scored the first goal of her young career to put the game away in the 84th minute.
The win gives Carroll plenty of momentum heading into the CCC postseason tournament next week, where they will be the two seed.
