Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Carroll Women Play to 1-1 Tie with Northwest

KIRKLAND, Wash. - The Carroll College Women's Soccer team utilized another late-game goal to earn  a 1-1 draw with Northwest on Saturday afternoon in Kirkland, Washington.

The Fighting Saints (10-2-4, 7-1-3), in a position they haven't often been in this season, had to battle back to earn a draw with the Eagles (8-5-2, 6-2-2).

Even though Carroll out-shot the Eagles in the first half, it was Northwest who entered the halftime break with a 1-0 lead.

Donnya Kvinge scored the game's opening goal in the 38th minute off of an assist from Gracie VanAssche.

The Eagles would hold the 1-0 lead for nearly the entirety of the game, but the Saints, never against a challenge, found a way to score in the late stages of the game to even the match at 1-1.

Emily Funseth (Great Falls, Mont. / SR) netted her ninth goal of the season in the 84th minute to even the match at one goal apiece, where the game would finish.

The Saints remain in second place in the CCC standings, and a win next Friday at Providence will lock in their position as the No. 2 seed for the CCC Postseason tournament.
