Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Carroll Women Earn 3-0 Shutout at Evergreen State

OLYMPIA, Wash. - The Carroll College Women's Soccer team earned yet another victory on the year, blanking Evergreen State 3-0 on Friday afternoon in Olympia, Wash.

The Fighting Saints (10-1-3, 7-1-2) used three first half goals to coast to a 3-0 win over the Geoducks (2-9-1, 2-7).

Deanna Lord (Cave Creek, Ariz. / SO) picked up right where she left off in her last game, scoring the game's opening goal just four minutes into the contest to give Carroll the early 1-0 advantage.

In the 18th minute, Delaney Moczan (Las Vegas, Nev. / FR), with an assist from Ella Kuenzli (Colorado Springs, Colo. / SO) would double the Saints' lead with her fourth goal of the season.

Leading scorer, Emily Funseth (Great Falls, Mont. / SR) put away her ninth goal of the season in the 34th minute to give Carroll a 3-0 lead that it would not surrender.

Again, as has been the case for nearly every game on the year, Carroll out-shot their opponents by a margin of 17-8.

Katie Gilb (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho / FR) earned a shutout victory, tallying four saves in the clean sheet effort.

The Saints will look to wrap up the weekend with a strong showing against Northwest tomorrow afternoon, and solidify their second place seed heading into the CCC tournament.
