HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Men's Basketball team will look to defend their home court this afternoon when they host No. 12 Montana Tech at the Carroll College PE Center at 4 p.m.
The Fighting Saints (9-9, 3-4) survived a late Bulldog push on Thursday, picking up an 85-1 win over Montana Western to vault themselves back into third place in the Frontier Conference standings. No. 12 Montana Tech (18-2, 6-1) is pacing the Frontier, with their lone conference loss coming to Montana Western in December.
Today's matchup will feature the top two scorers in the league, Montana Tech's Caleb Bellach (18.1 ppg) and Carroll's
Andrew Cook (17.8 ppg). Cook (Huntington Beach, Calif. / SO) enters tonight's game off of an impressive 31 point performance in Thrusday's win over UMW.
The Saints are an extremely young team, and have taken their lumps to this point in the season. Head Coach
Kurt Paulson believes his young squad is starting to put things together, however. The group, missing the senior leadership of
Jonny Hillman (Post Falls, Idaho / SR) due to injury, has had to learn how to play together. The unit are starting to gel, and will look to build momentum through the home stretch of conference play.
Montana Tech won the first matchup between the two programs earlier this month, 86-79.Â
The two teams have been extremely competitive as of late, splitting the last ten matchups 5-5.
Today's game will be streamed live on theÂ
Fighting Saints Network: presented by Point S Tire & Auto Service, and will also be broadcast locally on SWX. Live stats for the game can be found
