Carroll Men's Soccer Falls to Multnomah, 2-1

HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Men's Soccer team lost the backend of this weekend's home stand to Multnomah, 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Joseph Satterthwaite (Las Vegas, Nev. / FR) sent in a perfect corner kick that was met by a well executed Phillip Camacho header to go up 1-0 in the 14th minute of play.

Edwin Balbuena got the equalizer for the Lions in the 23rd minute with a long lob from the wing.

After halftime adjustments were made, both sides created some strong opportunities to take the lead, but a breakaway by Multnomah led to a foul in the box that pushed the Lions ahead for good. Jaren Bowler was able to capitalize on the penalty kick, pushing the Lions ahead 2-1, a lead they would not surrender for the remainder of the match.

Both sides created near equal opportunities throughout with Multnomah registering 12 shots, six of those on goal, and Carroll produced 11 shots, four of which were on goal

Up next for the Saints, they will travel to Western Washington for tilts with Evergreen State and Northwest on Friday and Saturday.
