HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Men's Soccer team dropped their home opener on Friday afternoon to (RV) Warner Pacific, 2-0.
The Saints found themselves in a hole early on in the match, when Warner Pacific Forward, Andrew Martinez was able to beat the keeper and put the Knights up 1-0 just five minutes in.
Carroll would go on to see their fair share of scoring opportunities in the first half, but were unable to capitalize and went into the half down 1-0.
In a nearly identical start to the second half, Martinez was able to find the back of the net again. His second goal of the afternoon would give Warner Pacific a 2-0 lead that they would not surrender.
Carroll's
Ryan Croft (Fleming Island, Fla. / JR) had the play of the day for the Saints. Croft came up with a massive stop on a Warner Pacific penalty shot in the middle of the second half.
The Saints will look to end the weekend on a high-note, as they host Multnomah on Sunday at 3 p.m. in Nelson Stadium.
