Box Score EUGENE, Ore. - The Carroll College Men's Soccer team earned their first Cascade Collegiate Conference win of the year, beating Bushnell 2-1 on Saturday night in Eugene, Ore.

The Carroll Men (2-2-1, 1-1-0) were able to leave Oregon with a sense of accomplishment, taking care of business in a 2-1 win over Bushnell (2-3-1, 0-1-0).

The first half played out evenly for both squads, with each team taking seven shots in the first frame. The teams played back-and-forth for almost the entirety of the first half, until the 44th minute, when Carroll was able to take a 1-0 lead.

Darin Chavers (Thornton, Colo. / SR) was able to beat the Bushnell keeper with an assist from Rory Bloy (Johannesburg, South Africa / SR), for his first goal of the year, and give the Saints the lead at the break.

In the 62nd minute, Bloy, who assisted on the first goal, scored a goal of his own to bring the Carroll lead to 2-0. Bloy's fourth goal of the season brings him closer to the Carroll program record for career goals.

The Beacons would manage to score in the 73rd minute as Alejandro Munoz was able to beat Carroll keeper Ryan Croft (Fleming Island, Fla. / JR) and cut into the Saints lead, 2-1.

The effort would not be enough however, and Carroll would hold on to win its first Conference match of the season.

The Saints will return to Helena and shift their focus towards next weekend where they will host Warner Pacific on Friday, and Multnomah on Sunday.
