SALEM, Ore. - The Carroll College Women's Soccer Team played to a 1-1 tie with Corban on Friday night in Salem, Ore.
The 2022 Cascade Collegiate Conference regular season got off to a slow start, literally, for both the Warriors of Corban and the Fighting Saints.
The first half of action was very slow, with neither team able to gain an advantage, and led to a 0-0 tie heading into the halftime break.
Carroll had an especially dreary start offensively, only taking one shot in the first half.
Just two minutes into the second half, Corban would break the tie when Maria Ruiz knocked in her first goal of the season to give the Warriors the 1-0 lead.
In the 51st minute,
Blair Stapleton (Billings, Mont. / SR) would score the equalizer off the assist from
Sydney Coulter (Colorado Springs, Colo. / FR). Stapleton's seventh goal of the year tied the game at 1-1, where it would remain for the final.
Carroll will have a quick turn-around as they head up the road to Eugene for a match with Bushnell tomorrow night at 5:30.
