SURPRISE, Ariz. - The Carroll College Volleyball team started their weekend off with a bang, beating both Embry-Riddle and Wayland Baptist in straight sets on Friday at the OUAZ Invitational in Arizona.
Carroll opened the day with a three-set sweep over (RV) Embry-Riddle, 25-13, 25-15, 29-27.
Carroll came out of the gates hot, jumping out to an early 7-0 lead in the first set, led by three straight kills to start the game by
Katherine McEuen (Spokane, Wash. / SR).
In the second set, Carroll found themselves down 11-12 at one point, but rallied off seven straight points to take control of the set for good.
The third set was back-and-forth, going into extra points where Carroll was able to finish the Eagles off for good.

Elizabeth Heuiser (Helena, Mont. / SO) led the Saints in kills in the first match with 12, as well as blocks with 4. Â

Hannah Schweikert (Columbia Falls, Mont. / SO) finished with 27 assists in the first match, and
Julia Carr (Portland, Ore. / JR) led the Saints in digs with 19.
The second match of the day proved to be much of the same for the Saints. They jumped all over Wayland Baptist, winning again in three-sets, 25-12, 25-10, and 25-14.
Carroll was extremely efficient in the second match, finishing with a .309 hitting percentage as a team. The Saints dominated every statistical category, and were in control of each frame from start to finish.
Heuiser again led the way in kills and blocks for the match, finishing with 12 and 4 respectively.
Madde Boles (Kalispell, Mont. / SR) added 11 kills of her own.
