CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Conference released its 2022 all-conference softball teams and postseason awards this week. The Carroll Softball team was represented by three players.

Kaitlynn Ayers landed on the All-Cascade second team. Kirsten Norris received honorable mention honors, and Amber Brewer was a golden glove recipient.

Ayers, a sophomore infielder from Twin Falls, Idaho, emerged as one of the league's most feared hitters throughout her second season in a Saints uniform. Not only did Ayers bat .337 with a home run, seven extra base hits and 14 runs batted in; she also led the team with 11 walks and posted an on base percentage of .441.

Norris, a junior outfielder from Phoenix, Ariz., played the role of the cleanup hitter most of the year for the Saints. She was the primary power bat in the lineup as she slugged .542, drove in 24 runs, and tallied 15 extra base hits. She led the team with 24 runs batted in, 64 total bases, and a batting average of .356.

Brewer, a senior outfielder out of Peoria, Ariz., was one of the Cascade Conference's recipients of the gold glove award. She epitomized the value of an outstanding two-way player by covering endless ground in rightfield, throwing runners out on the basepaths, and also driving in 16 runs as an offensive threat. She will be back next season for one more year with the program.
