Helena, Mont. – Saints Track & Field performed well at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif. and the Mule Relays in Warrensburg, Mo.  
 
Lee Walburn placed 3^rd in his group in the decathlon and 9^th overall in the midst of high level NCAA competition at Bryan Clay. Walburn achieved a personal record overall scoring 7156 points and vaulting to a 1^st place ranking nationally in the NAIA. The score is a school record for the Saints and will qualify him for NAIA Outdoor Nationals.
 
Garrett Kocab placed 7^th at the Mule Relays in the discus. Kocab threw a personal record and notched the NAIA National Qualifying A Standard. The mark moves him into the top six in the nation in the NAIA and is a school record at Carroll.
 
Nikki Krueger competed against 64 other individuals at Bryan Clay, just barely missing out on finals but placing 11^th in the large, competitive group. Krueger is already qualified for NAIA Outdoor Nationals and remains at 2^nd overall in the NAIA.
 
"All three athletes represented Carroll incredibly well," said Head Coach Harry Clark. "We are proud of how they dove in to the competitive atmosphere, and we know this will help us be prepared for Nationals in Alabama. Now we're excited to get the whole group back out there for our home meet and the conference meet!"

The Saints begin a busy stretch next week with the Trudnowski Open on April 21-22 in Helena, Mont. and the Frontier Conference Championships in Great Falls, Mont. on April 26-27.
