Helena, Mont. – Carroll College Track & Field will open the outdoor season at the Al Manuel Invite in Missoula, Mont. this Friday and Saturday.
The Saints will travel 22 men and 21 women to the meet. Friday will see Saints competing in the Shot Put while the remainder of the field events and all running events will commence on Saturday. Several of the 43 athletes will be wearing a Carroll track & field uniform for the first time including
Cormac Benn (Long Jump and Triple Jump), Cole Truman (Javelin),
Landen Conner (Javelin), and Mikayla Goffena (Javelin).
Eyes will be on Carroll's national qualifiers from indoor season.
Lee Walburn and
Brett Glaser competed in the NAIA Indoor Championships in the heptathlon and are each entered in four events on Saturday.
Nikki Krueger will throw shot put and discus,
Chloe Gallagher will pole vault, and
Reghan Worley will run the 5000m. Several previous outdoor national qualifiers will also be back in action. On the men's side, this includes
Chad Hemsley (400 Hurdles and Relays),
Garrett Kocab (Shot Put and Discus), and
Josh Malone (High Jump). On the women's side, it includes
Madde Boles (High Jump and 200m) and
Kate Picanco (800m).
"We love outdoor season and have been looking forward to this meet," said Head Coach
Harry Clark. "It's a great opportunity to step up against NCAA Division I competition and to show where we're at and what we're aiming for this spring."
Events for the Saints begin at 4:00 pm MST Friday and 10:30 am MST Saturday. There will be no live results, but the full meet schedule is available at the link below:
