Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Historic season for Carroll MBB comes to an end in NAIA round of 32

HELENA, Mont. – The clock struck midnight on what was a historic season for the Carroll Men's Basketball team, as they fell to Jamestown in the round of 32 on Saturday night at the PE Center. The Jimmies secured a 73-66 win to punch their ticket to the round of 16 in Kansas City.

The first half was headlined by Jamestown's stifling defense. Carroll struggled to get into an offensive rhythm early, and that resulted in a 33-25 Jimmie lead heading into the half.

After some half-time adjustments, the Saints came out and made a big splash after the break.

Lowell Chan knocked down a jumper in transition that gave Carroll a 41-40 lead with 14 minutes left to play, and the PE Center erupted. The Saints continued to keep the Jimmies at bay, and stretched their lead to 49-40.

Jamestown took the lead back with about three and a half minutes left, and they were able to fend off the Saints despite a tenacious effort.

Senior point guard Shamrock Campbell was the leading scorer for Carroll with a game-high 21 points. Joining Campbell in double-figures was Andrew Cook with 14 and Brendan Temple with 10.

Will Cordes was the leading scorer for the Jimmies with 16 points. Mason Walters and Devon Schultz each had double-doubles and scored 13 points.

Carroll finishes the season with a record of 29-5. Their win total marks a tie for the second most in the history of the program.
