Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Carroll MBB beats Northern, punches ticket to conference championship

HELENA, Mont. – Friday night in the PE Center, the eighth-ranked Carroll College Men's basketball team came out victorious in their Semifinal matchup with MSU Northern by a final score of 71-63.

The offenses on both sides got off to a slow start with MSU Northern jumping out to a 14-6 lead. From there, Carroll went on a 9-0 run and took a lead that they would not give back for the rest of the game.

Carroll took a nine point 34-25 lead into the locker room, having played a great half defensively to create some separation from the Lights. Carroll was able to hold Northern to 41.5% shooting in the game overall.

Mascio McCadney served as a tough cover for the Saints, as he scored 28 points on 11-17 shooting from the field and 6-8 from three point land.

On the offensive side for Carroll, Jovan Sljivancanin and Brendan Temple scored 22 and 16 respectively. Sljivancanin shot 7-14 from the field, while Temple was a perfect 6-6. Temple and Sljivancanin also combined to clear 17 rebounds in the win.

Tonight's win grants the Saints a birth in the Frontier Conference Championship game against Montana Tech Monday night at 7 p.m. at the PE Center.
