HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll College Women's Basketball team lost a heart-breaking double-overtime game to The University of Providence 92-93.
A share of the Frontier Conference Championship was at stake for the Saints and Argos, who entered the game in a three-way tie with Rocky in the standings.
The first quarter saw the Argos race out of the gate to a 23-10 lead on the back of an efficient 75 percent from the field after the first quarter.
Carroll settled into the game in the second, cutting the Argo lead to 9 at the break. Senior
Jaidyn Lyman was a spark off the bench and lead the charge for the Saints in the 3
rd quarter, narrowing the gap to 4.
After a back-and-forth 4
th quarter, which saw the lead change multiple times, Senior Dani Wagner buried a 3-pointer with seconds left on the clock to tie the game and force overtime.
The first overtime period played out much like the 4
th quarter with both teams exchanging 1-point leads throughout. With Carroll down 3 with seconds left, it was
Sienna Swannack who banked in a 3-point shot to tie the game and force a second overtime.
The second overtime period was yet another battle, with neither team able to gain a two-possession lead. Providence's Parker Esary made two free-throws with 1 second left on the clock to give the Argos the final lead of the game.

Sienna Swannack (16)
Jamie Pickens (17) and
Jaidyn Lyman (14).
Jamie Pickens recorded yet another double-double adding 11 rebounds to her line.
The Argos were led by Parker Esary's double-double, finishing the game with 39 points and 10 rebounds.
Carroll finishes the regular season third in the Frontier conference, Rocky will enter the playoffs as the 1-seed, with Providence holding the 2-spot.
The Fighting Saints will host MSU-Northern in a Quarterfinal game next Wednesday, in Helena at the PE Center. Tip-off will be at 7pm.
