GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Thursday night served as a special night for the Carroll College Men's basketball team as they secured a share of the Frontier Conference regular season title, as well as home court advantage throughout next week's Frontier Conference Tournament.
Tonight's win over the Argos also gifted head coach Kurt Paulson career win number 100, with the postseason still to come.
The Saints, in the first ten minutes, opened the game up to a 15 point lead and didn't look back from there as they seem to be hitting their offensive stride at the right time of year. The 93 point tally is the highest in conference play this year for Carroll.
The offense seems to be clicking thanks to some great scoring depth from the Saints. Tonight the Saints notched five players in double figures. Jovan Sljivancanin and Shamrock Campbell led the Saints yet again with 21 and 17 respectively, both shooting 50 percent or better from the field. Sljivancanin also added 12 rebounds and 6 assists to his total.
Brendan Temple continued his string of strong performances with 13 points, while Murat Guzelocak and Garrett Long checked in with 13 and 10 respectively.
On the other side of the court, the Argos saw strong performances from Brendan Howard with 19 points, and Elijah Oliver with 14.
Looking ahead, the Saints will host the lowest remaining seed in the Conference Tournament Friday night in the PE Center at 7 P.M. as they look to begin the journey to secure their birth in the NAIA National Tournament.
