Carroll Volleyball Sweeps Providence

HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Volleyball team made quick work of the University of Providence on Thursday evening, earning a three set win at the Carroll College PE Center.

Carroll (13-12, 5-4) strayed from their adopted norm on Thursday, winning a match in just three sets, something that they have done just four times on the year.

The Saints jumped out to an early lead despite hitting just .044, capitalizing on an error-filled first set from the Argos (9-18, 2-7), and winning the set 25-19.

With Providence up late in the second frame, the Saints battled back and made a run, eventually winning the set in extra points, 26-24.

In the final set, Carroll raced out of the gate, starting the set with a 9-1 run. The Argos would try to make things interesting, but the Saints were able to close out the match 25-18, hitting .300 in the frame.

Katherine McEuen (Spokane, Wash. / SR) led the Saints in kills with 9. Setter Hannah Schweikert (Columbia Falls, Mont. / SO) posted a game-high 33 assists, and added three timely kills of her own. Julia Carr (Portland, Ore. / JR) finished with 24 digs, and Elizabeth Heuiser (Helena, Mont. / SO) added 4 blocks.

The Argos were led by Bailey Christensen's game-high 10 kills, and Taylor Christensen's game-high 25 digs.

The Saints will now focus on a Saturday matinee with MSU-Northern (11-10, 3-4), a Senior Day event, and the final game of the 2022 Frontier Conference regular season.
