PROVO, Utah. - The No. 9 Carroll College Women's Basketball team is in Provo, Utah for an exhibition contest with NCAA Division I opponent BYU this afternoon at 2 p.m. (MST).
The Fighting Saints (4-3), fresh off of a lopsided victory over NCAA Division III opponent Willamette on Monday, will hit the hardwood again in their second exhibition of the season.Â
Carroll will take on BYU (1-4) who's schedule up to this point features several teams familiar to Saints fans. The Cougars started their season with an exhibition win over former Frontier Conference foe Westminster. BYU also squared off with Montana State, falling to the Bobcats 69-60 in early November. BYU's lone official win on the year is a 65-56 win over Washington State.
This year's Carroll team has been heavily tested to start their year, playing four teams currently ranked inside the NAIA Top-20. The Saints have also played NCAA Division I opponents very tough as of late, nearly beating Idaho State last season in Pocatello, Idaho.
Sienna Swannack (Nine Mile Falls, Wash. / GR), the newest member of Carroll's 1,000 point club, will be looked to early and often, and the Saints will also try to move the ball through Frontier Conference Preseason Co-Player of the Year Jamie Pickens (Helena, Mont. / SR).
