HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Men's Soccer team suffered a tough 1-0 loss to the Southern Oregon Raiders on Friday afternoon at Nelson Stadium.
The Saints (4-5-1, 3-4-0) entered the match on a bit of a hot streak, having grabbed two wins last weekend, but could not pull out a third today against the Raiders (7-4, 4-2).
The Raiders lone goal came in the 81st minute off an Adrian Villegas tap-in that the Saints could not bounce back from.Â
The Saints were able to match the Raiders aggression with 10 shots of their own to the Raiders' 12. Carroll however was only able to put one of those shots on target.Â
Mathias Gravesen (Copenhagen, Denmark / FR) recorded seven saves in goal for the Saints, helping limit the Raiders attack and keeping Carroll in the game.
The Saints are now in a four way tie for sixth in a log-jam for playoff spots in the Cascade Collegiate Conference standings.Â
Carroll will be back in action Sunday afternoon at 3:00pm at Nelson Stadium to face off with Oregon Tech for the second leg of this weekend's double header.
