GREAT FALLS, Mont. - The Carroll College Volleyball team picked up a five-set win over Providence on Wednesday night in Great Falls, Mont.
The Saints (10-10, 2-2) came into the night determined to get back on track and even out both their overall and conference record, and did just that.
In yet another match that required a deciding fifth set, Carroll found a way to take down the Argos (7-15, 0-4). Including tonight, 50 percent of the Saints' total games have gone five sets, Carroll is 6-4 in those five-set matches.
The Saints got off to a great start, taking the first set handily, 25-17. Providence would find their footing however, winning a pair of lopsided sets two and three, 25-18 and 25-16. Carroll would not go down quietly, winning the fourth set 25-21, before finally closing the match down for good in the fifth, 15-8.
Katherine McEuen (Spokane, Wash. / SR) was the undisputed leader for the Saints on the night, finishing with a team-high in kills with nine, as well as digs with 26. Setter
Hannah Schweikert (Columbia Falls, Mont. / SO) tallied 25 assists on the night.
Providence's Zoe Naugle had an outstanding game, she led all hitters with 17 kills and posted another game-high with 8.0 blocks.
The Saints will now prepare for another trip North, as they head to Havre for a match with MSU-Northern (10-6, 2-1) Friday at 7 p.m.
