GREAT FALLS, Mont. - The Carroll College Women's Soccer team picked up a win in their final game of the 2022 regular season, beating Providence 2-0 on Saturday afternoon in Great Falls.

The Saints (9-5-4, 6-4-2) grabbed their first win since October 9, shutting out the Argos (3-11-1, 2-8-1) to close out their regular season.

After a scoreless first half, Blair Stapleton (Billings, Mont. / SR) scored her Cascade Collegiate Conference-leading 12th goal in the 50th minute to give the Saints a 1-0 lead.

In the 65th minute, Emily Funseth (Great Falls, Mont. / JR) scored off an assist from Kody Clements (Nederland, Colo. / SR) to give Carroll the cushion they were hoping for.

Sarah Conway (Belt, Mont. / SR) grabbed five saves in the shutout.

Carroll is locked into the sixth seed of the upcoming CCC tournament. The Saints will play the College of Idaho in the opening round, on November 7.
