HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Men's Soccer team dropped their final home game of the season to Eastern Oregon 4-0 on Sunday afternoon.
After a season of beautiful conditions at Nelson Stadium, Montana weather decided to throw a curve ball at the Saints (5-8-1, 4-7) for a Senior Day match with Eastern Oregon (8-7-1, 5-6) that saw the pitch covered with a steady downfall of snow.
The game started out with good pace, but field conditions quickly worsened as the snow picked up just after the opening touch. Players from both squads had difficulties keeping their footing throughout the match, and the pace was notably slower as the game progressed.
EOU opened the scoring with a Jodanni Osuna goal in the 21st minute. The Mountaineers would get another goal from Marcos Bravo in the 38th minute to carry a 2-0 lead into the halftime break.
The Mountaineers would close the door on the Saints with a pair of goals in the final minutes of the game, one from Edgar Perez, and the final from Carlos Murillo to finish the game 4-0.
Carroll Keeper
Ryan Croft (Fleming Island, Fla. / JR) finished the match with 6 saves for the Saints.
The Saints will look to finish their season on a high-note, and secure bragging rights within the state of Montana as they face off in road matches with Rocky on Friday, and Providence on Saturday to end the regular season.
