HELENA, Mont.- The Carroll College Women's Soccer team fell to the College of Idaho 1-0 on Friday afternoon at Nelson Stadium.
The Saints played a defensive 90 minutes, while the Yotes had the majority of the possession and attacking momentum.
The Saints totaled eight shots throughout the match while the Yotes totaled 23. After a scoreless first half, College of Idaho capitalized in the 56th minute with a goal from Lizzy Gonzales to take the 1-0 lead. Carroll goalkeeper, Sarah Conway (Belt, Mont. / SR), saved a total of seven shots put on goal by the Yotes. Emily Funseth (Great Falls, Mont. / JR) led the Saints offense with two shots.
After a game lacking in offensive threat, the Saints will look to end 2022 Cascade Conference play on a high note. With leadership in the midfield from Kody Clements (Nederland, Col. / SR), Carroll hopes to grab a win this Sunday to finish out the second to last weekend of the regular season.
The Carroll College Women's Soccer team will play their Senior Day game against the Eastern Oregon on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Nelson Stadium.
