HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Women's Soccer team fell to Eastern Oregon 3-0 on Sunday afternoon in Helena.
A Snow-filled Saints Senior Day did not go as planned for Carroll College (8-5-3, 5-4-1) this afternoon, as they were unable to get things going against (RV) Eastern Oregon (9-3-3, 6-2-2).
The Saints were slowed down by snow flurries and a sloppy field, and were forced to play the majority of the match defending a heavy attack from EOU. The Saints were out-shot 24-5 in the contest.
EOU opened the scoring in the 34th minute with a goal from Kana Mateaki off an assist from Darby McDevitt to go up 1-0. The Mountaineers would add another goal with four minutes left in the half from Sydney Peck to take a 2-0 lead into the break.
The Mountaineers would add the third and final goal in the 83rd minute by Brooke Ford to close out any hope of a late Saints comeback.
Sarah Conway (Belt, Mont. / SR) finished the match with 5 saves for the Saints.
Carroll, who clinched a spot in the Cascade Collegiate Conference postseason earlier this weekend, will now shift their focus to finishing the year strong against a pair of Montana foes next weekend. The Saints will wrap up CCC play with road contests at Rocky on Friday, and at Providence on Saturday.
