KIRKLAND, Wash. - The Carroll College Women's Soccer lost 1-0 on a late game goal to Northwest University on Saturday in Kirkland, Wash.
The Saints' (7-2-3, 4-1-1) winning streak was snapped this afternoon in Washington, as Northwest (8-0-2, 4-0-1) was able to keep their clean Cascade Collegiate Conference record intact.Â
There was no scoring in the first half of today's contest, but there was certainly no shortage of action. Northwest kept the pressure on the Saints, putting up 13 shots in the first half alone, seven of which were on goal and required saves from Carroll Keeper
Sarah Conway (Belt, Mont. / SR).Â
The Eagles would continue to be aggressive in the second half, taking another 11 shots to bring their total to 24 for the game, double that of the Saints (12).Â
In the 86th minute, Northwest would break through as Grace Burke would score off an assist from Kayla Soderstrom to put the Eagles on top 1-0.
Carroll would run out of time in an attempt to make a comeback, and drop their first Conference match of the season. Even with the loss, Carroll is still sitting atop the Cascade Collegiate Conference standings with 13 points, tied now with Northwest.
Carroll Goalkeeper
Sarah Conway would finish the match with a season-high 12 saves.
The Saints will return to Helena and begin preparations for next weekend as they host both Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech on Friday and Sunday.
