HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll Men's Basketball team suffered their first conference loss of the season on Saturday evening, losing to Rocky Mountain College 81-76 at the PE Center.
The Saints started the game off fast, leading for nearly the entire first half. Rocky got a three-pointer from Jesse Owens in the closing seconds of the first half to cut the Carroll lead to six points.
The Battlin' Bears continued to fight throughout the second half, and took the lead 64-63 with just over six minutes remaining.
More plays were made down the stretch by Rocky and they were able to come out on top 81-76 after both teams went back-and-forth in the final few minutes.
Jovan Sljivancanin scored a team-high 19 points for the Saints.
Gui Pedra added 16 points off the bench and
Shamrock Campbell had 15 of his own.
Kael Robinson was the leading scorer for the Bears with a game-high 20 points. He was one of five players to finish in double-figures for Rocky.
The next game for the 15-2 Saints will be on Thursday when they travel to Great Falls to take on the University of Providence.
