HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll Men's Basketball team earned another Frontier Conference victory on Thursday night at the PE Center, defeating Montana Western 84-73.
The opening portion of the game was back-and-forth as both teams swapped buckets. Western led 17-14 with 13 minutes left before Carroll unleashed a 17-0 run out of a timeout to go up 31-17.
At the half, the Saints led the Bulldogs 44-33.
In the second half, Carroll extended their lead to as much as 20 points. Montana Western knocked down some big three-pointers late in the game to cut the deficit down to nine points, but Carroll held strong on their way to an 84-73 win.
The Saints were saw a number of great performances on Thursday night.
Jovan Sljivancanin had a game-high 27 points along with 11 rebounds and four assists.
Shamrock Campbell added 19 points, and
Andrew Cook scored 18 points on 7 of 9 shooting.
Jamal Stephenson was one of four Bulldogs who scored in double-figures. Stephenson scored a team-high 18 points.
Carroll is now 19-2 on the season and 6-1 in conference play. Montana Western moves to 12-9 on the year and 1-5 in conference. The Saints will head down to Butte on Saturday afternoon to take on Montana Tech at 4 p.m.
